Job Description:

  • Serve as reporting specialist for the highly visible Medicare Part D program
  • Provide analytic reporting support to internal and external customers on both routine and ad hoc reporting needs
  • Design special studies to support ad hoc policy inquiries clients as well as suggesting areas for investigation through interaction with Project management and Medical Directors
  • Write queries in Cognos reading data warehouse, tests and designs analytic reports to share with program staff and client
  • Participate with reporting group to suggest design changes to data collection system and to accommodate evolving data capture and analytic needs
  • Participate on the QA Committee for Project ISO 9001:2000 documentation and quality improvement, including application of statistical process control analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • 25% travel requirement

Education/Experience:
  • Masters or PhD in a related field, preferably with a concentration in mathematics or statistics
  • Five years prior experience in application of biostatistics, epidemiology or health economics
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to author and produce complex client reports that include high level business writing, complex formatting and embedding and interpretation of statistical results including graphics
  • Experience in public presentations of this type of information
  • Experience with pharmaceutical and/or health insurance claims data analysis preferred
  • Experience in research design and implementation, including knowledge of sampling techniques
  • Experience with Siebel/Oracle Cognos and SAS highly desired

Job Description

  • Perform Statistical Modeling and analysis in SAS or SPSS, and mathematical modeling in Excel
  • Recommend appropriate techniques and work plans for modeling and analysis based on business requirements
  • Synthesize analysis findings to address business issues
  • Prepare client ready documents of findings

Required Skills & Background
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a statistical analysis environment such as SPSS, SAS or R
  • Degree in statistics or operations research
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Collaborative team player, able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with predictive modeling, customer segmentation, forecasting, and media/channel optimization
