Manager, iPod/iPhone Warranty Analysis - Apple (Cupertino, CA)

The iPod/iPhone Warranty Analysis Manager leads a small/medium-size team of data analysts chartered with monitoring the performance of Apple’s iPod and iPhone products in the field. This is a key function within the company responsible for providing critical research, reporting and analysis of manufacturing, reliability, and field repair (service & support) data.

The ultimate goal of this position is to improve overall customer satisfaction and cost management by contributing to world-class product quality. The ideal candidate must be an experienced people manager, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to effectively communicate the results of his/her team's analysis using statistical data as well as practical supporting evidence up to the highest levels of the company. Flexibility and the direct ability to perform "hands-on" analysis is also required. The successful candidate will possess the unique ability to integrate streams of data from various sources and turn that data into useful information, and recommendations supported by meaningful analysis.

Position duties include: • Team management
* Analyze and evaluate the performance of key metrics in the business * Provide crisp, insightful explanations of the performance trends identified * Identify and evaluate advanced analytic techniques * Communicate and provide regular product & project updates to Senior Management 
* Build consensus and secure buy-in from Senior Management to adopt new strategies and improve business performance 


The qualified candidate will have 8+ years of data analytics experience preferably in a manufacturing quality, service and support, or insurance claims management. A BS/MS in mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, operations research, or related quantitative field is required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with advanced analytical capabilities, including a solid understanding of manufacturing, reliability, and field failure rate models.

The candidate must have exceptional analytic, problem solving, written/oral communication, and presentation skills. Candidate must be flexible and able to multitask in an extremely dynamic environment. Strong computer database query skills with experience in SQL (Teradata), Business Objects, and SAS are necessary. Strong strategic communications and presentation development skills are required.
