Senior Curriculum Coordinator (Inwood, NY)

Position Summary

The Senior Curriculum Coordinator/Education Supervisor assists the Principal in the educational leadership and administration of the School and supervises teachers in innovative special education preschool setting in order to ensure best practices in instruction and compliance with monitoring agencies and regulations.

Position Accountabilities

Along with the Principal, s/he is responsible for the health and safety of the children, families and staff who work there, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, insuring that the learning environment meets and exceeds the standards established by Birch Services. As directed by the Principal, s/he may communicate with students, staff, families, Birch Administrative Office staff, the New York State Education Department and the New York City Department of Education, as well as a myriad of other agencies. S/he assumes responsibility as determined by the Principal for facilities management, curriculum development, program evaluation and design, site financial and personnel management and emergency procedures.

Position Qualifications

Requirements: MA & NYS certification in Special Ed, prior school-age and/or pre-school teaching exp, and SAS/SDA required.Good interpersonal skills and communication skills needed.Hours of Work: Monday through Friday: Hours and days of work are subject to departmental and consumer needs.
