Director of Operational Risk (NYC, NY)

Global financial services firm is in need of an experienced operational risk executive to be responsible for the identification and management of all operational risk issues relating to their brokerage operations. The director will manage a staff of 8 that will support the monitoring of the operational processes to assure that that proper controls are in place as well as the business continuity efforts,incident management and sas 70 audits. This individual will be a member of the risk and control committee and be the co-chair of the executive risk management steering committee. there will be extensive interface with other senior managers of the firm as well of the firms subsidiaries. Qualified candidate must have at least 10 years as an operational risk professional in a financial services firm with knowledge of brokerage operations or capital markets and experience in managing a group. A college degree is a must, advanced degree a plus. A solid knowledge of all us financial market regulations and all aspects of operational risk is a must. Excellent verbal and written communications are needed as well as the ability to make presentations to the most senior managers of the firm and its various divisions.
