Leader, Data Analytics - Early Warning Services (Scottsdale, AZ)
Overall Purpose
This position provides leadership and direction related to Company data asset strategies and initiatives to accurately predict fraud and to leverage the Company’s vast data assets to drive customer value, company revenues and operational efficiencies and enhance quality of deliverables and market position. Directs and drives enhancements in data capture, storage, analytics and modeling.
Essential Functions
- Manages the data analytics team(s) to ensure the best predictive fraud solutions and strategies are developed and employed, including evaluation of various complex performance definitions, sampling approaches and segmentation alternatives for new product development.
- Partners with Sales, Marketing and Product groups to understand customer needs and cross-sell opportunities and provides data analytics support of business case models to further service solutions.
- Serves as the Company’s Subject Matter Expert for internal data and business intelligence and is the primary contact with Information Technology, Product and Operations for requirements specific to the creation and ongoing maintenance of analytical scoring models and enhancements, such as building ROI models, defining business problems and internal business cases to support new solutions and product enhancements.
- Develops appropriate processes and programs to ensure in-depth research and analysis of customer data and to enhance data collection, analysis, reporting tools and strategies.
- Ensures proper testing processes are established and followed to enable high data integrity, volumes and frequency.
- Understands key product metrics and identifies, defines, and ensures best practices in business intelligence analytics are utilized.
- Works cross functionally within the organization to deliver integrated business intelligence solutions.
- Responsible for managing prioritization of the Data Analytics project queue in conjunction with Product and other departments.
- Conducts periodic needs assessments among key company executives to continually improve the ability to meet Company objectives through data strategies and analytics.
- Works closely with Information Technology and other data/system providers, both internal and external, to enhance systems, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Ensures compliance with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or another relevant discipline).
- A minimum of 10 years management experience in data analytics, modeling and business intelligence.
- A minimum of 10 years management experience in financial services, fraud prevention or related field.
- Superior leadership and management skills together with strong business acumen.
- Experience leading the implementation of business intelligence solutions from the ground up following a defined methodology.
- Prior experience building a data analytics department highly preferred.
- SAS certification preferred. Demonstrated proficiency utilizing SAS or equivalent statistical modeling tools required.
- Approved background and drug screen is required.
