Sr. Statistician - Nielsen (Philadelphia, PA)

Nielsen is seeking a Senior Statistician/Methodologist in BASES Pharmaceutical business group. As a member of the Methodology and Advanced Analytics team, this position will work with many research teams to provide support in statistical analysis and consulting with innovative and creative statistical solutions.

The successful candidate should have a solid background in statistics and enjoy conducting quantitative analysis in a team environment. Successful experience in statistical modeling R&D, and implementation is very important. Business experience in consulting and/or pharmaceutical industry is also desirable. Other requisite skills include programming skills in SAS, SPSS, and related statistical programming. The position requires a detail-oriented person with excellent project management skills who is successful at multi-tasking and working with different teams.

Responsibilities

  • Use various programs (SAS, SPSS, ACCESS, etc.) for data transformation and management. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, standardization and integrity of data.
  • Help the research teams in designing quantitative market research studies.
  • Implement advanced statistical methods, including discrete choice models, conjoint analysis, forecasting, segmentation models and other types of analysis as required by different projects.
  • Mining of large databases (e.g., neural networks, machine learning, etc.)
  • Coordinate and participate in ad hoc analyses to address client inquiries and resolve anomalies.
  • Research and develop statistical methods and procedures.
Qualifications
  • PhD degree is preferred while Master's degree is required in Statistics, Economics, Psychometrics, Marketing Research or other similar quantitative fields
  • Working knowledge of statistical programming languages (SAS, SPSS, LIMDEP, R, etc.)
  • 3+ years of research and/or working experience
  • Detail-oriented and proficient in quantitative analysis
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
